Elizabeth She is found in Luke 1:5-20. Elizabeth's story is often eclipsed by Mary's story. It's hard not to give all the attention to the virgin birth! But Elizabeth has a miraculous birth as well. She was past the time to have children, a huge disappointment to her and her husband. But she was a woman of great faith. When her husband returns from his duties at the temple, unable to speak, and writes down that he has seen an angel, and that she will bear a son, John, she rejoices in what the Lord will do. Wouldn't we be more apt to think our spouse had lost their mind? Elizabeth is also the first woman, besides Mary, to hear of the coming Savior. After Mary is visited by the angel Gabriel, she does is go to see Elizabeth, and they spend several months together "pondering all that the Lord had done for them," two women, rejoicing in God's great power. All of us have times when we feel barren, or disappointed, and Elizabeth's story reminds us that there is always hope. Video Clip of Elizabeth
