Kathleen Ruttum

Kathleen Ruttum and I first met at Colonial Players, a community theatre group in Annapolis, MD. When I stopped doing community theatre work, we lost touch with each other until one afternoon when I was presenting a Women of the Bible program for a Regnum Christi group at Bon Secours. Kathleen was in the audience. God works in mysterious and wonderful ways! I had been looking for a director to help me improve my characterizations. God laid it on my heart after seeing Kathleen again, that she was the person that could help me, since she had a BFA from Catholic University, and I knew she was a gifted director and actor. I contacted her, and we developed a professional and personal relationship.

Recently, I was developing an entirely new program, Pretty Is as Pretty Does. Kathleen was involved in the process. It was then that I felt called to ask her to become more intimately involved in Women of the Bible. I felt she understood what this work was about, so she seemed like the perfect person to invite to begin to portray some of the characters.

We decided that Kathleen would start with Sarah, Martha and the Sinful Woman (Mothers) because it is such a powerful, universal program. Kathleen will bring her own interpretation to these characters and have her own testimony to share about her faith journey.
